Under Tank Heater/Thermostat?
As some of you may know already, I just got my baby corn snake…and I have some questions about the under tank heater I purchased. It didn’t come with any type of controls or anything, just a mat that plugs in to the outlet, and starts to get really hot…too hot…

How do thermostats for UTHs work? Any explanation on how this works, would be great!
yes this is one of the products i use basically it has a temp. probe you put on the heat mat (under the tank) and when it gets to hot it feeds less electricity in to the mat if it cools down too much it passes more through it eventually it finds the proper balance and creates an even temp. you just dial it like dimmer switch on the wall (the temp. is marked on the dial but double check it any way with your temp. gun or thermometer) although a heat light is better in a glass tank as you need to heat the air the snake breathes as well heat mats work well for rack systems with closed sweater boxes and slow air flow
