So here are some interesting facts and fun trivia quizes about snakes and reptiles. Check back. I'll try to keep finding new quizes to share with you!
Vemon vs. Poison
We are constantly asked if any of our snakes are poisonous.
Well, the answer is no. Snakes are venoumous, not poisonous. (We also do not have any venomous snakes!)
What is the difference between venom and poison?
Poison is something that YOU have to drink or eat in order for you to get sick.
Venom has to be injected into your body if it is to cause you any harm.
So there are no poisonous snakes, only venomous ones.
Some amphibians (Cuban tree frogs and cane toads for example) are poisonous. They secrete poison either through their skin or from glands on the top of their heads (parotoid glands). Always make sure you wash your hands after touching a frog (or any other animal!). If you rub your eyes or touch your face it may cause pain, temporary blindness or inflammation.
Choosing the Right Pet
We have a lot of different kinds of animals here on the farm. Not all of our animals that we bring for our shows make good pets for the average person.
Many grow too large. Some are just not nice. Others may make a good pet but are very high maintenance.
If you are thinking of acquiring a reptile for you or your child, and have questions about different species, you can call us. We can make recommendations of different species that can make great pets, and help you avoid the ones that don't.
This is my (Jennifer) full time job. I spend 4-5 hours everyday taking care of the animals that we have here. Just because you see that we have it, doesn't mean that it's easy to have.

Oviparous is when a snake lays eggs. Birds are also considered oviparous. Pythons and rat snakes are examples of oviparous snakes.
Oviviparous is when a snake retains the eggs inside of their body, they hatch inside of the snake, and then are "born". Boa constrictors, water and garter snakes and rattlesnakes are examples of oviviparous snakes.
